No White Christmas

While in many parts of Canada are celebrating Christmas with enormous amount of snow, we see only dull sky and some patches of ice in the lake in Kingston.

Christmas Shopping!

I don't really like shopping. Especially, when there are crowd of shoppers almost every corners in whichever shop you go. We decided to go shopping after Christmas to get something for ourselves, but is it better if we go on a boxing day! ;)

Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Not much snow in Kingston or Ottawa, but 2.5 hours away towards north, we need snowshoes! I love walking in fresh fluffy snow.

Santa's lap

Families are queueing up to take their children to sit on Santa's lap. Many young ones do not seem to be happy to be that close! Is that the guy they have been waiting for?

Do you like going to school?

I had a chance to visit the Frontenac County Schools Museum for a Christmas Concert. The schoolroom set in the style of a one-room rural school house in the 1900-1930 era. The desks and artifacts were collected from the schools which at one time dotted the countryside. It was for the first time in years that I felt like going back to school again, but it has to be this kind of school. Sunset

This picture is shot through a sheer curtain. It is still sunny in the beginning of December in Kingston, Ontario. I'm wondering how many suns do we have?

Prepare for the cold

There are few poles on Princess st. for bikers to lock their bicycles. Cute idea and lovely colours. But..., could they get cold?

Skate, shall we?

The rink is opened and temperature is below zero! When we saw some snow left on the ground, we said to each other, "Finally, the winter has arrived!" Yippee!!!

Ballerinas

Strolling along Kingston downtown just for window shopping. This particular window attracted me by these two dancers. Yes, they were dancing! What a great idea to advertise a dance school. Don't you think? They nodded and smiled when I asked for permission to take pictures. Unfortunately, there were reflections on the windows.

Quiet Afternoon

Yachts and boats were long gone out of the dock as part of winter preparation. When the sun shines and the sky is blue like this, I would like to be out in water... if only I could find a boat.

Still Warm

I thought I moved to a cold country! It is already the last day of November and the weather is still warm. It is windy as well as you can see. When can we use this ice rink?

Bird of Prey

While having a morning walk at Lemoine Point, Kingston, Ontario, I spotted this barred owl.
It disguised itself on a tree branch. I waited until it made its move.

Bella

Dogsitting is not a boring job. This human's best friends keep us busy and definitely fit from walking them around few times per day. Many times, they introduce us to other dog-walkers which is a nice way to get to know more people.

Needle Carpet

Needles do not always hurt you with their pointy tips. It was fun to walk on a soft needle carpet.
Only 15 minutes north of Ottawa, Gatineau Park is a nice place to stroll around.

Fall Colours in Reflection

A freezing but peaceful October afternoon around Draper lake, Frontenac, Ontario. The water was calm and the sky was so blue. I couldn't resist to go for a quick swim.
