Frozen Locks

The Ottawa Locks connect the channel of the Rideau Canal in Ottawa to the Ottawa River, almost 80 ft. (24.4 m) below. These locks represent an amazing engineering achievement in the middle of the Canadian wilderness of the early 19th century.

  1. I really like this black and white photo, stark contrast without colors, gets the point of the frozen locks across... great photo Nui! I wonder what this place would look like in the summer, full of activity?

  2. Thanks Novi! Now, I have to wait for summer to see how it is like :)

  3. One of my favourite spot in Ottawa. The view is so nice!
